COLOR CHOICES FOR ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™ Brand Contact Lenses

Q: Are ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™ Brand available in both opaque and enhancer colors?

A: Yes. Seven opaque colors and three enhancer colors are available. Opaque colors are Chestnut Brown, Sapphire Blue, Hazel Green, Jade Green, Pearl Gray, Deep Blue, and Warm Honey. Enhancer colors are Aquamarine, Ocean Blue and Emerald Green.

Q: Does the enhancer lens have a pattern?

A: No. The enhancer is created with a full circle of transparent pigment that is 11.5 mm in diameter. The full circle eliminates a transition between the lens color and the pupil, making the color change look very natural.

Q: If the pupil is covered by the enhancer color, is visual acuity negatively affected?

A: No. ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™ enhancer lenses generally cover the pupil, but Snellen visual acuity and color perception are similar to the ACUVUE® 2 Brand Contact Lenses.

Q: How is color added to the lens?

A: The pigments that create the color patterns become completely cushioned in the lens during the manufacturing process. This process ensures that only the etafilcon A lens material, and not the pigment, comes in contact with surfaces of the eye.

Q: Does the addition of color change the lens design?

A: No. ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™ possess the same lens design as ACUVUE® 2 Brand and are manufactured to the same specifications.

Q: Are you offering ways to help patients choose their color that require less staff time?

A: Yes. Patients will be able to visit www.acuvue.com to find out more information about ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™. In addition, patient brochures will be available in the offices of Eye Care Professionals. Both sources will include the advice of celebrity stylist, Mally Rancal. Mally's unique approach to color selection can help patients determine the colors that will look best with their skin and hair tones, as well as guide them to the colors that will best express their individual personalities. Q: Who is the best prospect for ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™?

A: Any candidates for soft spherical lenses are likely to be candidates for ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™. And since ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS™ are also offered in plano, even those who don't need vision correction are candidates.

While young females are more likely to be interested in eye color change, market research has shown that men are interested, too. Across the board, interest seems to be much higher than purchase, mainly because patients don't know much about color lenses and they are unaware of the right questions to ask. Making information available and asking office staff to bring up the topic can dramatically increase success.
